SOR tech. service told me the rear mount engine (the one holding the tranny) are ALL the same for the 5 speed tranny. (FJ, BJ, HJ) (My cruiser is a BJ60)

Otherone told me no.

So, any of you already experience that ? I realy want to make sure.

PS. : Thank Rob for your e-mail comment.... beacause of you... now I'm starting a new tread ;)

The rubber mount is the same as the 4 speed. The steel crossmember is different between 4 speed and 5 speed (more clearance on the 5 speed mount for the front drive shaft).

So... the question is more : DO ALL 5 SPEEDS MOUNT FIT INDEPENDENTLY OF THE KIND OF CRUISER ? FJ, HJ, BJ ?

Cruiser_guy : do I have to care about the cross member... I will keep the one I have..?

I believe all rubber mounts are the same and all 5 speed and longer 4 speed (ie: later 4 speeds from FJ60's '85 or so and later) crossmembers are the same. What are you doing that needs a tranny mount? Is your's busted?

If for some reason your '83 doesn't have a 5 speed (it should) and you're putting in a 5 speed then you will want the correct mount or you will have driveshaft rubbing issues.
