I have a '66 GMC SM 420, that I'm fooling with, for my Cruiser. Its missing the front bearing retainer, as the one that came with it was just slid on the front input shaft, but its for something else apparently. Anyone have one laying around there not using? Thanks, Al

I might have one. I bought a couple of 420s from Mike for parts. I was hoping to make 2 good ones with the parts and the 420 I have. Let me dig around this week - I have them buried in the back...

Hey, sounds good. No hurry. Thanks, Al

I checked through the boxes I bought from Mike. I don't have the part. Both of the trans were somewhat a part. You might hit Mike up 66fj40x2 on the board - see if he has any of the parts left.

Thanks

Thanks Guys. Got a couple of leads from a Guy at work, ( grand pa's old truck, dad's got one in the shed, etc ), but nothing yet. I know there still out there. Al

Al, you can buy an adapter bearing retainer from Advance Adapters. The stock bearing retainer is smaller in diameter than the hole in the toyota bell housing. You have to have an original bearing retainer and an adapter ring or an adapter bearing retainer.

I imagine this would be true if my truck still had the 2F motor. I'm running a 350. I had seen somewhere on one of these boards, where a billet one was being made. Looks like a possible high dollar option. Thanks Guys, Al
