My husband is going to drive our 1987 FJ60 from CA to NC next week. We were thinking about buying a trailer - but we do not know about the weight and how much it can pull, we were hoping around 5000 lbs. He also has a 3 inch heavy duty lift kit with greasable shackles on the the cruiser . Please Advise:cheers.
Thanks Jenna

The Toyota factory rating for towing capacity with a 60 is 3500 lbs. The heavy duty springs can help a little bit, if you don't already have a lot of other stuff weighing down the truck.

And as the hijacked thread mentioned - brakes on the trailer with any weight over 1500lbs is a must, and the law in California. Be safe, not sorry.
