After 16 years of driving my 40 to and from events I think its time for a trailer as the 40 has morphed into more of an trail machine than anything suited for a 15 hour drive.

Since I now have a gas guzzling V10 Super Duty I started looking for trailers yesterday. Lots of choices!

If any of you had to do it again would you buy the longest, lightest ect.
Or just whatever the best deal is?
I've never owned a trailer before and admit I am ignorant to trailering issues.

Get the biggest most obnoxious trailer that you can afford.Trailers have a way of not having enough room for parts /fuel/equipment.Only you can tell your needs but in the past, almost every trailer I've owned became too small.Oh and don't forget...Brakes.

If you can I would recommend getting a gooseneck trailer. I just hauled my 40 322 miles on a gooseneck and it handeled much better than my tongue pull trailer. :)

I have never thought of a gooseneck but they sure seem popular with farmers around here, and I could probably find one at an auction
But then I would lose the bed cap.
I was thinking today that the longer trailer may tow better and have more room for camping stuff and spare 3rd's ect.
Aluminum is out for me as those trailers are twice the price.

I have a Big Tex 20' trailer that seems to work pretty well when I haul my 40. Its a bumper pull and I tow it with a 2000 Dodge 1 ton dually diesel. I don't even know its there most of the time.
A goose neck would be nice but I think there are some nice bumper pull trailers out there.
