I was wondering if anyone has ever had a trailer with a spare tire in the front? Possible behind a tow vehicle's rear tires. I am building a trailer, and don't want to put the spare where a rock kicked up by towing vehicle could get bounced back forward a break the rear window in the tow vehicle. Just curious if anyone has had that happen or am I just being paranoid.

Paranoia is a small thing ..Put the spare in the rear of the trailer or underneath, a lot of good mounting locations on earlier threads. No rocks to the glass, only rocks in a glass and filler up with something smooth.

Got mine on a post at the back, makes it removeable so it doesn't wander off and it can ride inboard or outboard.

What I am building is a trailer using an old 50s Ford step side box and the square Jeep style fenders. I had thought of mounting the spare similar to the way the old trucks had them mounted in front of the fender. I am both concerned about it sticking out too far, and possibly causing rocks to bounce forward into the tow vehicle. I might do the underneath, but not sure if 31x10.50 will fit without hanging too low. The other thing is I am planning on making it a dump box.
