OK, i pulled the trigger and added a 08 sandstorm to the garage, i didn't get the tow package, however i do want to add it.

Question, do i go OEM, or can someone either post a pic of a aftermarket hitch on thier new ride ? like a hidden hitch, draw tight, whatever you got. i do not want a aftermarket hitch that will hang down and show that cross bar in the back. any info will be helpful.

1. more question, the oem hitches look like some kind of step bumper hitches, do the mount to the frame ?? or ?.

Thanks in advance, Happy new year to all ...

The OEM hitches mount to the rear most frame cross member. They are class 3 and are rated at 5,000 lbs towing. I added one myself for cheap, since I didn't add the electrical connector & wiring. I don't tow with my FJ, but I use the hitch for recovery straps.

I paid $146.25 + shipping for it. It maintains the stock departure angle.

I need to get a hitch too. Anyone know if I will have issues installing an OEM one with the Warn Rear bumper? Don't plan on towing anything just yet, but I can always use another recovery point and some day I hope to have one of these behind my rig.

One of these would be perfect for me. Put all the gear on there and my two chocolate lab pups will have plenty of room. They are getting huge. I really like their basic model, the Sherpa. It ain't cheap, but it looks rugged as hell. Someday....

If you need trailer lights I'd go with the OEM wiring kit, no cutting, protects your wiring and control stuff (shuts off if shorted out) cheap insurance, and warranty electrical stuff after uhaul chopped into the wiring?? Just call any aftermarket bumper co they will tell you if the oem hitch fits, its tiny, about 3x the size of the receiver tube with ears to bolt it on.

Convertor Kit part number 08921-35870 is the wiring from toyota for an 07, i got mine from trdsource.com
