Toyota color theme (red/orange/yellow)

Images below show a color theme, that I am not savvy to the history/origin of. Can anyone school me?
I've seen this as resent on the 2019 TRD 86 package.

Ivan Stewart’s Toyota race truck displayed that livery back in the 80s. No idea on its specific history.

The tricolor thing was big for a lot in the 80s and 90s.

dunno the origin, but I would start with a search of Ivan Stewart, see if that is where it began. although i don't think he joined toyota until 1983, and your earliest pic is approximately 1981. in any event, worth the read.
