toy taco shakes while cruising at 40 mph and worse while braking. Plus when I let off the brake sometimes I feel a good size jerking clunk

Hi All:

I would guess that it is one (or both) of the front axle outer bearings failing.

Jack-up the front of the truck, and with both front tires off of the ground grab each of the tires at the 12 Noon and 6pm locations and attempt to shake/pivot the tire/wheel. If there is any slop the front axle outer bearing is wearing-out.

Good luck!

Alan

I have checked for play didn't feel any. How bout the clunk I get when I release the brake at a traffic light. That's only sometimes though. Thank you for any feed back.

That is most likely axle wrap. My truck will do that a bit when I stop fast at a light and let off the brake. I blame my add a leaf.
