shocks on my 2003 DMax are done...almost 130k on the truck, so they are VERY due for replacement...

I've run Bilstein's in the past on a 3/4 ton and liked them, but they are $$...

RockAuto.com has:
acdelco premium gas charged for $45
acdelco hdltv for $45
acdelco monotube for $66
monroe sensatrac's for $38
kyb monomax for $61

kinda leaning to the kyb....thots anyone?

Curious about this myself. My '03 Yukon XL 2500 has 145K on it and needs shocks too. Post up what you decide.

leaning hard towards the KYB....that model is specific for diesels/towing/hauling...

ordering tomorrow...

OME, teased a heavy duty line but never released anything, would love some OME shocks on the Superditty, did look at those KYBs, Woody, do you run airbags?

yep...i do run bags...20-25psi when the gooseneck is hooked...

KYB MonoMax ordered thru RockAuto...we'll see how I like 'em...

ordered at 2pm on Tuesday afternoon....FedEx truck just pulled up...Wednesday, 8:40 am...

now it's install time ;) (well, ok, maybe once it warms up a bit more....)

KYB MonoMax®
heavy duty monotube shock absorbers

Purpose: Maximum control for trucks and SUVs – stronger, more durable truck shock

* The right choice for hauling, towing, or plowing
* The best performer on harsh road conditions
* Perfect for diesel trucks

Installed this morning....fortunately, the OEM shocks that came off weren't rusted completely...even bolts/nuts were in decent shape and came apart without much fuss...

Took the truck out to lunch, got in some 'lightly' loaded street time...there are two tool boxes, two spare trailer tires, and some misc stuff in the bed....air bags were deflated...

Thus far, impressed....in-town ride was improved, especially considering the poor quality of WI roads....the 'big' bumps were definitely less abrupt than they ever have been...

Highway ride was 'better' but not significant...only so much you can do on frost-heaved WI freeways...

First towing test will be for Toys for Tots in early December and will include the smooth freeways of Milwaukee and Chicago....will update then....but suspect they'll work as advertised.

Ordered a Airlift 5000 system today with compressor system, got the bigger compressor so I can run a nice 2 gallon air tank for a OBA system too........

223 for bag kit
240 for compressor kit, off Ebay
