the night before thanksgiving i was in an accident, the 80 bit the dust... slee bumper, ome lift, 33 bfgs all gone :crybaby: but anyways, i went to the toyota dealership to look at the fjs and the dealer told me the new fj should be out in a few months, so im not sure if i should just buy a 2012 fj now so ill have something to drive, or wait for the new fj and buy a lifted 60 with a big block from a local truck shop to fool around with for now? does any one know if its gonna be worth the wait for the new fj? or does anyone have any info at all on the new fj? thanks

Sorry about your 80; glad you are alive to buy another truck.

In the five-year history of the FJC so far, there have been no big changes, just small stuff to address known issues and small changes in the 1GR engine line. Maybe next year will be the one for a big change, but odds are against it IMO.

Hi, Glad your well. The dealer should know what changes will be made. MIke

Sorry to hear of the demise of your 80 and glad that it did its job, keeping you safe.

The dealer won't know crap, rarely do they have accurate info.

I'd guess no changes will be made, with the release of the FJC in Aus, incorporating RHD into the chassis, I can't imagine Toyota has big plans for the US market. Particularly with the "new" 4RNR and '12 200 series Landcruiser.

While you are waiting for a '12, maybe give the used market a look. You'll find many deals on '09's, finding a dead stock FJC w/rear locker would make a great platform for a fun build...

thanks for the heads up guys!

I'm pretty sure the 12 is exactly the same as the 11 anyway. If you were going to buy new you could probably get a better deal on the 11.

Your dealer is nuts, the next model (2013) won't be out til next fall at the earliest.
