After reading an article in 4 Wheeler (Jan. '07) about Ned Bacon installing a torque arm in Killer Bee & praising the improvement, I thought it might be a *better alternative to using the upper control arms on a rear 4 link I'm planning for my 55. It looks like I'm in for some major fabbing around the pinion of the 14 bolt I'm using to mount the unit as they don't offer a kit for that application. Anyone try something like this? Here's the product, click on the "Tons Of Info" at the bottom: http://www.nthdegreemobility.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=30_51&products_id=171

Take a look and how Unimogs locate their axle's. They usea "torque tube" and panhard bar to locate the axle.
If you eliminate the shackle in that picture and brace that torque arm to the other side of the pumkin (to keep one wheel from walking forward, and the other from walking back, ie: twisting)... add the panhard bar...... I think they have been called "single link" or somthing simular.

Not exactly what you asked, but hey.... nobody else had anything to add. :)

I have talked to the Nth degree guys a bunch of times.

Personaly, if you are going to do the fab work necessary to modify that piece you might as well start from scratch.

They are designed for the bolt on jeep crowd.

Of yeah, Ned's not the first person I would trust...
