850 acres of everything from scenic to "no one has ever run the whole thing." There's even one trail with a bounty on it if you finish it! Perfect for everyone from Nick to Nolan
The property is near Salem MO for those who want a map reference. It was oroginally bought by a big developer out of St Louis, slated to be folloded halfway up the ridgelines, and tunred into huge expensive "lake tract homes." Developer did not do his geologic homework: the soil is too porous to "lake-i-fy!" The unflooded terrain consists of lots and lots of Ozark ridgeline runs, big boulder creekbed runs, loose soil and boulder infested hill climbs, side hills that had the inclinometer reading 35+...wow! The very well thought out network of trails covers all kinds of terrain and levels of difficulty. It was developed with a 3D map and model-able software that lets you overfly the property, zoom thru canyons and draws and creek beds... Kewl, and thanks to our governement for the satellite imagery You will never, ever cover everything this venue has fo offer in a month of weekends, let alone an event weekend, and they are constantly building new trails.
The current owner, Ron Maximoff, used to compete with a loosely cruiser based rockcrawling truck. Our crew showed up at just about dark...he said "want to go play now, or in the morning?" Duh! Instant night run, complete with carnage, we got back to camp around midnight, got up early, and ran til waay after dark on Saturday. Sweeeet!
He runs a gps treasure hunt every month: show up, get co-ordinates to a clue. The clue is another set of co-ordinates on the property, at which a cash prize is cached. Neat!
Look for pics from guys and gals with cameras at the TornadoAlley Clubhouse, and new thread in TLCA Events. We're gonna go with last weekend in Sept to spread us out from Cottonland's Oct event by a few weeks.

Thanks Chef for the heads up & new wheeling event.:)

Hey CLC folks good thing about this event-all my family is from Salem, MO.:D

Good, we have a place to shack up! How far is it up there?

Later,

629 miles or 13 hours from Auburn, AL. Daaaaaang.
Site looks like a blast!

It's a really fun site, huuuuge. I hope some of y'all can come up. We'll be back several times for more recon, so keep your eye on the Tornado clubhouse for the when's on that if you care to...

Hell that's closer than Katemcy for us. 650 miles to Katemcy! I will try to make it. Chef has approached me about doing the event shirts and I always go to events that I do the shirts for. Hope I don't get the Moab, Rubicon etc. orders. Hell, I'd have to quit work! Yeaaaah, now that's an idea!

And you'd need an assistant to help...
I'm kinda rotund but I could easily model the T's as a full-time job if it meant all the TLCA rides...

Do you think you could hook us up with some of those "Garth Brooks lookin' headsets? We could Keep in touch and look official while we work the crowd!

We don't usually stock that kind but we got connections.
So you're thinking Secret Service-like and not Pit Crew-like?

It's 6.5 to 7 hours for me and we're hosting the event :)

Hope y'all make can make it. It's shaping up to be a very cool trip!

It was 110 miles from my house. You can't believe how excited I am to finally not have to drive for two flippin' days to get to some seriously good wheelin...and lots of it, not just a half day.
We didn't put a dent in the trail system the two days we were there, and he's cuttin' new trails...there were trails already cut that weren't on the map...YES!
