Thanks for the post!

Wow....they really **** these cars up!

I'm glad to see a review NOT complaining of it being a big road vehicle that seats 8 kids and hogs too much gas......pansies.

No Problemo. Boredom pays off :)

Good read, but the part about the tires is BS, of course it makes a big difference! the 200 basically had street tires and the H2 had ATs, it doesn't matter if it's standard equipment or not, changing the stock rubber for something better such as an AT or MT tire is something that anyone who is even remotely serious about off-roading will do as it's first mod. IMO they should've equipped both with at least the same brand and type of tire (they can stick to the stock size of each vehicle if they want).

Thanks for sharing.

Actually, I've taken my LC through everything from washes (loose sand), sheet rock, dirt, gravel, river rocks, 12" of water, boulders, etc. The tires are surprisingly good, actually.

Sure, I would love to add ATs, but I want to go up to 33 or 35", on 17" rims with a 2.5-3" lift. That project is on hold at the moment. It's an all or nothing package for me.

The BIGGEST problem that I have is ground clearance. I have bent my side steps (need sliders soon!) and have the underbelly skid plated, which I'm VERY thankful for doing recently!!!

The crawl control feature was actually pretty sick when we decided to drive straight down the side of a wash, about 45 degrees down. Crawl control was awesome both going down and going back up. It was so steep that I had to approach it at quite an angle just to get it to breakover and not rock on the side steps, which would NOT have been pretty. Back up, my front end took a bit of beating under the fog lights. I have no paint left down there!

The more I drive this thing, the more I love it. NO other vehicle could EVER compare to the on road refinement of this vehicle with the ability to just drive off the road and practicly go anywhere. It's dual purpose roles is what I love!!! Land Cruiser transformes into Land Crusher.

I am kinda glad the Land Cruiser is getting some time in the press. This was a pretty good review.

If these are the GrandTrek tires you are talking about. They are pretty good for grip and ride but they won't last past 30k.

I believe they are Bridgestone Dueler H/T

What kind of test was that? Stock to stock...no comparison. The H2 will eat the Cruiser's lunch.

Rear lock
App and Dep angles
315's

Put them on a real trail and the Cruiser won't survive the first obstacle. Looks like Truck Trend testing.

No, it'll last and will most likely eat up the H2 offroad. Problem is, you gotta go offroad with earplugs so you wont hear the sheet metal and plastic getting torn off the cruiser. I bet you at the end of the real trail, the land cruiser will look like a landcruiser instead of a highlander :)
