Are those welds? They don't look like... well, welds. I don't weld, so I can't tell what I'm looking at. I'm used to seeing tight little overlapping curves.

well, here's some more weld pics for the picky, funny, I can't find any stacked dime welds on my entire Toyota frame, however, I am not defending the weld quality or the bumper strength compared to other available bumpers, but I'm sure it's strong enough for my wifes needs. This was a no brainer upgrade from the factory plastic bumper that she damaged. We looked at the dissent as well as others and chose this, it's just that simple.

it's not an issue, just minor trimming. No changes will be made as it looks way better when the bumper tucks under the lights.

Thanks for the reply. I respectfully disagree but I understand why you had to say that. I read through your 30 steps front bumper installation instructions for Toyota 100 Series Land Cruiser 1998-2007. I didn't see any trimming mentioned there. Please let me know if I missed that. I would think it is an issue if it is not mentioned in your documentation or product description.

That looks like it is just puddling up, from my weld class 20 years ago iirc not eneough current, but maybe someone can correct me.

TJM reminds me of the hot girl who ignores your calls 'til her boyfriend dumps her. A couple years ago, trying to get any info on their bumpers for the 100 was just about impossible. Some shops had a few of their ARB/Ironman copycat bumpers, but no one knew if and when they could get their hands on the T17 (or whatever they called it then).

Since then, a handful of highly-skilled fabricators have emerged in the 100/'mud community - creating amazing products developed for, not adapted to our 100s - bumpers, sliders, racks, grilles, drawers... Give a lot of thought to where you send your money. The more we support these guys, the more 100-specific product development we’re likely to see.

Nice bumper, who makes it? And do they make one that fits on a LX470?

@benc, I started this thread to share the information with the MUD crowd that TJM was bringing the T17 back ....my intent was not to start a debate regarding the US fabricators VS Imports. I also thought that @shanester made great points on how he positioned his company to thrive in the face of competition. That being said you don't have a link in your signature to your bumpers and using search for Dissent front bumpers your thread appears on page 6. I was looking for this picture as it represents your craft and passion and just might be my next purchase.. now just make it easier for one to find you and you won't miss a beat.

Is that the full aluminum Dissent? Any word on if they will make a batch? LX470?

Picking mine up Friday, and hastily installed it the next day. First impressions are the packaging it comes in is top notch, the cardboard by itself weighed like 30 lbs! The fitment and quality is on point for the price and it looks great. Install went off without a hitch and spliced in the fog lights and turn signals into OEM wiring, good to go, loving this bumper!!!

Nice setup! How long did the TJM install take you?

A local shop wanted to add $200 to the cost, to have one shipped from the warehouse, and $450 to install. I'm thinking of driving down to their warehouse to pick one up and attempt to install it on my own. Not sure how difficult it is.

Couple more bucks? Try 1000. Some people aren't rich my man. Will be ordering mine soon.
Not sure who you were trying to quote but I'm not familiar with any bumpers that are $1000 more. Dissent bumper starts at $1075 and comes winch ready
But coating would typically run around $150-200 putting the total at $$1225-1275. I believe with the tjm you end up being around $1000 after you add the winch plate.
All my previous comments were more about the $600 retail price they were talking about at first, that didn't happen. I'm glad they offered it at a more realistic price. If this bumper best fits your tast and needs than go for it.
I'm 100% fine with other options, in fact I turn potentiall customers to other vendors all the time if there is another option that sounds like it would fit their needs better. There are plenty of vendors on here that I am happy to loose a sale to! Most of them I know and would consider friends.
When you are ready to buy your tjm bumper start with the vendors on this forum that support the lc community. I believe there are several supporting vendors that are dealers for tjm.

Ben I would love a dissent front bumper. But 747$ with free shipping is just more affordable to a lot of people. If money were no option your front and rear bumpers would already be on my 100. Ben does your price include shipping?

I get it if you're putting a bumper on there purely for looks. For that, yes - the cheap TJM is the way to go, and Ben's bumper is overkill. But, if you think you might ever, even once, use the bumper for recovery - either with a mounted winch or as the anchor point, that extra couple hundred bucks will seem pretty insignificant.
