just got some dc1 black 17x9 dick cepek wheels and 33x12.5 mt mtz tires. was wondering if any one is running this set up on a stocck fj and do the tires rub or is a lift required to run these tires and wheel. any suggestions would be great.

tire sizes

I just lifted my fj, and from the research I did I found that 33-12.50-17s would rub on the upper controll arm unless the wheel offset was 1/4-1/2 inch outwards more than stock to be safe... some people stated no problems where others stated rubbing on the body mount and then side wall was very close to rubbing on the upper controll arm... But anything is possible given the power of a saw-zall! Spacers also would allow the install if your not worried about losing a few threads off your luggs...I chose to run 285-70-17s since they have had no problems with rubbing even with a stock rig with stock wheels.
Good luck

I did the same, just a little rubbing on the body mount at full compression.

i dont know the exact backspacing on the stock rims but the dick cepek rim are 4.53 in backspace and -12 offset
