Hi ya'll
I’m looking for tires for my 1998 Taco. I have 31 15" a/t on there now from BFG. Well, I have not been satisfied with these. They seem to get chewed up out here in the Arizona rocks and sand. I wanted to know if anyone has been running on the Goodyear Dura techs, Hancook Muds, or Maxxis Muds? These three tires I have been researching. Pepboys has a special for their Destinies, but I'm not to jazzed about buying such a cheap unknown tire. Any thought? Any recommendation that won’t kill the pocket book? Thanks for your imput. 15” stock size wheel is all I will do now; at this late in the game, 267k odm.

Lots of folks I know run the Maxxis Bighorns - good performance and wear for the price. I've got a set on my 40 right now and I like them for Colorado and Moab wheelin. I don't have anything to offer on the other two, although I see more and more street/trail combo rigs with the Duratracs these days. For the AZ rocks, I'd look to the GY MT/R's more than the Duratracs.

Not sure which part of AZ you are in, but the granite that covers most of the state is hard on any tire. I don't think you are going to find one that will not chunk apart on the stuff.

The Hankook mud looks pretty good as well. Maxxis seems to be the best for the Gas Mileage 32s. Location Central Arizona Phoenix. Granite trails, very little snow off-roading. Ghost town hunting terrain in hills and deserts of AZ is where we always end up. Very Dry!
Thanks for the input. :cool::beer:
