Maybe I have missed in searching for a good answer, but the answers I have come up with have not been have not really answered the questions I have. I started out with the first new new FJ and we all know when the FJ first came out there wasn't to much to pick in terms of suspension lifts. I had picked my first FJ when I was in Vegas, so you can imagine the wheeling I did when I lived there. I have sense moved to a more tame place, a place where I can't get out as often as I would like. After a little research and some talking the shop in Vegas had hooked me up with DR coil over in the front and DR in the back. Also added some much needed stuff so when I caught myself out of light I was able to fine my way home. All this will a bull bar and a winch. This gave me a 3 inch lift on BF All Terranes. My job moved me back to Dallas where we have our fair share, but nothing like NV, CA or UT. I traded the black in for a silver and went auto with this, mainly because I spent more time on the road than off and liked the 2wd option and move to 4x4 when needed. I'm running American Racing 17 inch rims with 305/70/17 MR/R with a frame cut. I'm really wanting to go with 6 but Im getting mixed reviews. Lets say I'm my mind is set, and I'm going to make the jump another 3 inches. Since I don't have stock absorbers per 4wheel parts I am not necessarily limited in what I can buy, but it seems to cost more because of the initial buy of the DHR coilovers. With 4wheelparts I have learned love to push pro-comp on you...and with what they are telling me its going to be around $4,500.00 less install. I have read a few people who like RC and some others, but I don't want to get stuck with less than par. I don't want to replace CW joints every 5k miles and I don't know if some of the kits come with the necessary extensions to make everything run right break/stearing lines. If I look at RC then I'm limited in who can/will install, however I like the price much more and the ride from what people who have them have explained. Per 4WP they will not carry because the warranty isn't good enough, and a couple have said not to move to 6 from 3...which others on the forum have said as well. Bur just as many have said the opposite. I just really like the look of the 6, and now that everyone who wheels has at least a 3. The MT/R's measure close to 35 inches...what should I do and who should I go with. I know there are a lot of opinions out here and would love to learn as much as I can from you guys before and if I make the purchase. Help a brother out that wants a 6 lift, but doesn't want to sell an arm to get one. I'm also a realist in the fact that you get what you pay for...just seems that 4WP is more worried about what you pay for, and it's evident in what they try to push on you. I know it's top heavy, but a more comfortable ride on concrete. Also if I'm not doing stupid things on the trail the risk runs much smaller that I will flip. Please let me have it, right or wrong. And if 6 is good what to look at and who in Dallas does a good job of installation. I generally like to do my own installs, but I'm going to try to tackle this one by myself. Thank in advance for the, what I am sure, will be inspiring insight to the world of lift!! Thanks guys.
