Just hooked up a "tiny-tach" on my 13bt.
Installed easily/quickly and no calibration needed.
warm idle is about 655+/-

pics are of display and transducer mounted on metal fuel line.

This thing was like 65 USD
I got the 1/4" "PN: DTT-1/4" size, it fits well but could be a hair larger. But a week so far and not an issue.

here's the site ... http://www.tinytach.com/tinytach/diesel.php

I read the site but I am assuming it attaches to the #1 injector line? it must get a pulse signal from the line? Very easy to install!

It says it updates every second? Does it have a noticeable lag time when revving?

Now I found something I can put in the spot where the factory digital clock was supposed to go!

chet, the manual does not specify a certain line to use. It just must be unpainted metal and a straight section.

Usually while revving, there is no lag. Occasionally coming to a stop, it will switch to the hour heter display for a second, then go back to tach. At warm idle, it does fluctuate between 648-660 usually closest to 655. Not sure if that is the tach or the rpms doing the fluctuating. Is that a normal range for a 13bt?
Is the fluctuation a bad thing?

One "drawback" is that you cannot see it at night. No illumination of the display, but I don't care. Just installed it so I would know how it's running compared to specs. I've not changed any of the stock settings for fuel or boost.
