I was at the local scrap metal salvage yard and came across a 1930 ish tiny tractor with a flat head 6 in it and a fist sized PTO with a mounting assembly which would fit just nicely in the cruiser(70 40) but I not knowing anything about PTO really was wondering what it could be used for? Is this just a useless piece or could be a valuable asset?

Could use it to drive a winch, a hydraulic pump, or even a generator. Think of the possibilities. :D

Yeah, I don't think it'll work....If you could get the gears to line up then it might be worthwhile....but unless you are a wicked machinest, I'd say save your money to import a PTO from Oz

Rig it up so it can pick up your spare tire off the ground to your spare tire carrier or wherever you put your spare. You know how heavy a 38" tire can get at the end of a long day of wheeling...
