is anyone makin a run to TDS desert safari next week? Was wonderin how many FJs would be there or if anyone had gone in the past?

I was also wondering if any other cruisers and such were making it. We are going out to Salton Sea Beach to visit some friends this weekend, so I'll have to go check up on the action. Last year we were also there, but for the most part ignored the 4x4 stuff and did buggies/ sandrails.
The year before (I think), was the last year at Truckhaven. I took my fj55 that time and had a freakin' blast. The stocker with no locker made it through all of the difficult sections and ended up drawing a pretty decent crowd in a few of the hardest spots. It is super dusty with fine silt, so bring a bandana for wrapping around your face and a pair of goggles with silt proof vents. Bring plently of booze to drown out the sound of trucks and fireworks all night. Don't bring pets, it is rough with so many drunks and the fireworks tend to scare dogs into running into the desert. I know it is mostly a Jeeper event, but that area is so much fun to wheel in. If the crowds are not your thing, there is a humongous area with all kinds of natural desert oddities to go wheeling in.
