Thinking about getting a aFe throttle body spacer.. wondering if anyone is using one and if they've noticed a difference with anything? i.e. gas mileage, horse power, torque etc..

thanks guys!

Will make you go faster, by virtue of making your wallet lighter. :)

Yeah, a spacer with grooves so the air spirals, magnets on your fuel line to allow you to get better mileage, special washer fluid additive to make air flow over the windshield faster, super duper kevlar-titanium-ceramic radiator hoses for better cooling and finally racing slicks to replace your original tires. Contrary to common belief slicks actually bite better in mud and sand and snow and ice than any other tire available!!!!!
EVER!!

or not.

So no, do not waste your money.

thanks for the advice!.... i actually just bought a bug deflector.. supposed to create more down force with driving as long as i drive with the rear window open... much like the air wings on an indy car. Saving up to get a set of lowering springs too... Should make cornering A LOT easier........

ooooooooooooor not.... hahaha

think i'll bypass the spacer and get a CAI instead...

there's only 1 engine i can think of that a SPECIFIC throttle body spacer helps on and that's the 1NZFE out of Echo, Yaris, xA, gen1 xB and Prius cars. it doesn't help milage or increase power, but it does stabelize torque output on that engine for some reason. if you look on the scionlife and clubxb forums, you'll find owners who have bought them and done before and after dyno runs.

the only reason why it's helping is by adding that small additional volume of space after the throttle to the intake manifold, of which based on internal volume will improve or decrease torque quality. in this case, it helped by leveling it out and making it more smooth instead of spiky between 2 and 5k rpm.

other than that... they're worthless unless you know the math and design behind your intake manifold to know what will improve it or ruin it's original purpose. this is why fabricating a intake manifold for purformance racing is quite tricky as it takes a few trial and error designs before you start to get something right. volume of the manifold it's self, length and diameter of the charge pipes from the manifold to the intake ports of the engine, angle of air flow and even dispursion of air flow from the throttle to the manifold and so on... they're tricky buggers.
