Folks,
Debating whether to keep my existing set up or sell both the hard and soft caps and invest in a Can-Back set up.
Motivations for going the Can-Back route include the ability to run cargo on the roof vs. not being able to run anything on the Bestop I currently have, and the ability to have "instant air conditioning" by rolling up the side windows.
From anyone's experience, have you been able to run "heavier" loads on your Can-Back? By that I mean bicycles, kayaks, camping gear (up to an including a roof top tent) successfully? I'd like to be able to carry the same amount of gear on a Can-Back that I can currently pack on my hard cap, which amounts to at least 150lb at any given time.
I've also recently noticed that Can-Back has been purchased by another company, and was wondering if this has negatively impacted their quality and/or customer service. Should I hold out for used or is buying new a safe option?
Thoughts appreciated.
