Thinking the Unthinkable...

Thanks for the thoughts everyone.

So, I pitched the idea to the wife. She told me I was crazy. That I'd regret selling it, and she doesn't want to go wheeling no matter how comfortable the ride.

There goes that.

Maybe I'll wait a few months a see if this 80-lust passes.

Sometimes we don't give our wives enough credit. Barb used those same words with me.

"She told me I was crazy" - I agree. :D

(oh yeah, I guess I'll tell my neighbor to put away his $13.5K check)

Doh! Now mine is on CL! I'm testing the waters....

I'm sorry that I don't get a shot at your 40 Felix, but I'm happy that you are keeping it.

If I can get $2500 to $3K for it, I'm selling it. I want to save up and get a later model or an FJ60 at some point. Also, I need the money now....wife in school and not working.

So, this way I can just ride shotgun with you and drink beer!

Felix, for carrying the occasional building supplies, what about one of those cheapo little trailers that you can move around yourself to store in the backyard between uses?

Felix, your wife is right. It's best to stick to one money pit at a time. I love both my 40 and my 80. The problem is once you do one mod it's hard to stop. I swore the 80 would just be a DD, ahh maybe a lift, maybe tires, that lead to more and more and more. Stick with the 40 until you get it right about where you want it. Then pick up and an 80 or 100 series.

But an 80 is sweet! Don't wait too long.

There is the Troopie in South Jersey where I bought the BJ42 from that is not in too bad a shape. Seats 11 and you can carry half the planet inside. Another thought is picking up a cheap explorer as a second vehicle. I picked up a 96 Explorer for just 1750.00 and it runs like a champ. The vehicle came with a 6 cyl so it gets decent mpg and it is great if I want to work on the BJ42 because I do not really have to schedule to be without the 42.

For the troopie, the e-mail address is recycling@comcast.net. The guys name is Matt. He is in a dealin mood because he has some more on the way from Australia.
