I have missed GSMTR for a couple years. I am thinking of making the trip but would rather camp TN side next to trail to make night runs easier.

Would anybody else be interested in this or are you more inclined to stay at Crawfords and drive the swithbacks for miles and miles and miles.

I would drive over for check in and cookouts/raffle/shower.

just plannin ahead.

Karl,

I'm down for campin on TN side. Vince, myself and Andy are going to this for sure. Well, I'm tentative plans pending for a career change.

But I'll be there if I can and like the idea. That's about 2 hours closer for us isn't it?

Sounds good to me, thats if I make it through the winter its just started and I'm allready wishig it was spring.:crybaby:

I HAVE NO PREF, I WILL BE TRAILERING THE 80 WITH THE DMAX. THE DRIVE TO MURPHY NC TO GET TO CRAWFORD SEEMED LONGER THAN TO THE TENN SIDE. THE WINDING ROAD TO THE TENN CAMPGROUND MAKES ME BARF TOO. ON THE NC SIDE EASIER ACCESS TO NAPA WALBILLYS ETC. KARL IS RIGHT THE RIDE TO THE TRAILHEAD SUCKS FOR THE NC SIDE.

HAS THE STLCA POSTED DETAILS ON THEIR SITE YET???

ONUR ARE YOU CONSIDERING THIS???

Kirk

No GSMTR for me this year.

I'm getting my ducks in a row for Cruiser Moab in May and then Paragon for Coal Miner.

I'm trying to get 10 days for Cruise Moab for a nice ride out and a nice ride back.

I have to be there for that event for the Ftoys...so maybe we can caravan down or something.

Jutty,
Is the April 1 event an F-toys competition? Or a trailride where some Ftoys are gonna be shaking down new equipment?

Shoope called a couple weeks ago and explained what he was asking for...

He wants the ftoys (new TN Vendor and ftoy.org) to set up a display or exhibition to generate interest in the class.

So, it's a Toyota Trail Ride with Alpine AutoWorks and ftoy.org there to showcase the rigs.

FYI the USFS ( NC side) has just posted new regulations effective 1 Jan. 2007 that include no camping in the OHV area along trails 1 & 5.

The USFS (TN side) has redone the campgrounds along the Tellico River and made them pay areas with designated spaces, which reduced the number of campers they can accommodate. Additionally last year they banned alcohol in all pay areas, this has only been intermittently enforced so far.

We would be happy to have you join us at Crawford's,so you will have a chance to met everyone and maybe even make a few new friends.

Right now I am looking more the April 1 ride and a big CMCC trip. I have read that the trails at Tellico have transformed into extreme and very easy with not much in between, I hope I am wrong.

Still thinking
