Bob has my ARB buttoned up. I’ll be headed over there a week from Friday to grab the 3rd and help him install his OME lift.

In the mean time I figured I would install the compressor and switch.

@FJ60Cam got me the ARB and free compressor deal via Mosley Motors

Wow. Just read through this entire thread.........so many things to add to my "restoration" list. Great build @wngrog !!

My BIL just picked up a '77 55 for me and said he cruised 70 to 80 mph all the way home (4 hrs) without a problem but when you see something like this I'm not sure there's any way I will be able to forego the temptation once I pull the drive train. Glad @FJ60Cam will only be one state over.

@J Mack , I took your advice and ordered some Timbren bumpstops.

I got the generic Land Cruiser offering I linked earlier for the front.

The Bend they put in the plate must be designed for a 60. The Pig frame is much flatter here.

I made some shims and installed em. Twisted it up.

They hit at about the same time the shaft bumpstops hit.

I think I’ll make another spacer and drop em another 1”

Also, check this out. The shocks are made for a 60. The rod is a bit long and on flat ground it’s about 1/2” from the body.

I have enough body/frame flex that the tops poked through the fender. Not today, but when I was whacking those dunes. Now it just goes right up into The holes. Crazy.

Shock mounts look much better! What type of bushings are in those shocks? Lower mount looks like it is deflecting quite a bit.

Got a good bleed on the new brakes.

Front all new. New rubber lines. New master.

Same brakes.

@USMC22 and I think it can only be the booster at this point.

So......$275 to @Racer65 at we will see what’s what.

The new City Racer booster was the ticket. Great brakes now. So excited.

Next up. ARB rear install and I’m going to rebuild the rear brakes while I’m in there.

@MoCoNative chimed in way back in this thread telling me that the Delco charcoal canister is not set up to work stand-alone with constant vacuum from the base of the carb or Sniper as it will feed raw fumes back into either and cause dieseling and other issues.

On his guidance I picked up a check valve and put it in line from the charcoal and the Sniper then I put a T in the distributor vacuum line to only pull vacuum when the advance happens under throttle.

Interesting info.

Also, added a full box of Noico 170mm over the 80mm insulation I had on my roof. Really finished off the no headliner look nicely.

This is with only front done for comparison

This is the whole thing done

While I won’t really be doing any rock crawling in the Pig, some of the trails I find myself on tend to have a ledge or two that may end up being an ass dragger.

The Long Range Automotive tank hangs down a bit in the rear so I decided to add a little just-in-case skid plate.

I did not want the extra weight of steep so I got a scrap of UHMW plastic from @fountainhead that he had leftover from his buggy and made a skid

It’s light. About 5# and tough as hell. It’s like cutting board material.

I used glue to attach it. Hopefully it stays.

Got the ARB from @maxbob002 Thursday in the way home from work. It’s beautiful. Too pretty for this pile.

The only way to get it in the Warthog is to just suck it up and do it

When I rescued the truck 2 years ago I changed the rear diff fluid but I did not re-drain it after driving it a bit. The rusted housing from sitting up for 10+ years was nasty. The fluid I took out was rust colored.

Lesson learned.

I’ll start tomorrow by rebuilding all the brakes on each side and making sure I have a good clean surface to reinstall the ARB. My 60 leaks from when I installed the Auburn LSD because I used the OE paper. This sucker is getting RTV
