Anyone have a good resource for used rear differentials? After 219,000 miles and whole lot of banging, the thing blew. I'd like to just pop another one in vs. rebuilding it. Its a 2000 v8 2wd. No ABS. I don't believe it has a limited slip. 3:9 ratio. Any help would be greatly appreciated as my baby is just sitting in front of my house not doing it's job. Thanks.

I'd snag a 3rd from a salvage joint.

The 3rd's I was finding at salvage yards around here they wanted 500 bucks... I'm in need of a 8.4 3rd with 3.91 gears as well non locker... I have found a few good deals on craigslist and eBay and on sum 4x4 sites...

Well, I pulled the 3rd today. Nothing like seeing your spider gears and other shrapnel just sitting there. Gonna take it to my buddy mechanic neighbor and see what the damage is. Bummer no salvage yards in Vegas have it. Some knucklehead on CL might have one but he posted the wrong number and isn't answering his email.

That sux keep looking I got 1 on the way ;)

And I can't wait to see all the nasty stuff in my rear end right now ...

I would be thinking a wrecker as well unless you can find someone parting out a vehicle. Could price new but gear sets are usually pricey. I wonder if any cross references to earlier models??
The odd guy has been converting to solid axles so perhaps try Pilot on here ??
