Inge, Marshall; am going to buy a roll of the tape, just a little bit concerned 'cause one of the biggest problems was to get the window glass into the holding channel with the rubber; if the tape is sticky on both sided it might be a headache to get it to slide into the groove.........but if it has paper on one side as I suspect then it might be ajob.........will let you know how it works;

One thing that you might try is wetting the window with soapy water. That's what they do when the tint the windows to keep the tint from sticking until they have it in the right place. I don't know if it would work in your case or not and I don't know if the tint adhesive is special to allow for being wetted down with soapy water.

thought about possibly sending out a piece of the rubber along with the dimensions Trollhole gave to wefco or others to get a quote for fabbing; all they would need would be a small sample as it is an extrusion

the one i'm sending you is still very soft and pliable. may make a good candidate. i just rolled it up tonight to make it easier to fit in an envelope.

Inge..........awsome; a company i worked for had dealings with Wefco in the past; they fabbed up some custom extruded seals and at that time believe 100 feet was in the order of 100$ + change IIRC, will be contacting them in the AM with Marshalls dimensions to get a prelim quote
Yep, John I believe is covered with a lot of projects but he did receive the rear body to tailgate seal that I got off the 79 rust pig.....soo I think that is his next project after the rear back door "short" window seals...........sure wish I was going to Moab TIA

I can't remember if this has been addressed here or not, but I just noticed that the FJ60 cargo windows look extremely similar to the FJ55's. Anybody tried to see if the FJ60 cargo window rubber will fit the 55? Is the FJ60 stuff even still available?

Here's the proflie my neighbor pick up at the car show in PA, will not work well for body molding but it works great on body to seal the tail gate. In the second photo the tailgate is not completly closed.

How does the welting itself fit on the body...door and tailgate?

How the welting itself (regardless of the rubber and its affect on door closure) fits on the body w.r.t. snugness and how it fits over the clips that hold the headliner.

I am thinking about having some rubber made like the OEM, if possible and affordable and then using old welting or a welting substitute.

So welting vs the rubber seal (the rubber was glued in the welting)...nowdays they are often one pc rubber.

Forgive me if I am still not clear.

Eric, I'm not using this on the body for the door openings, I was looking for a replacment for the SOR weather strip that i have on my truck and this is what my neighbor brought back and its just not quality stuff. If you look back on page 6, post 164 and on, Marshall has found some quality stuff from Fairchild. I will try this on my doors and let you know how it fits around the clips. The welting does not fit as tight as the sor's strip and is very flexable, which might help it fit around the clips and the corners. You can also crimp it so it fits tight but it looks lumpy. The SOR stuff fits nice and tight, it just hard to close the doors. I'm still waiting to see if Marshall wants to order from Fairchild, at $47.00 for 4 doors thats cheap.
