Let me make sure I have this straight. We're talking about the rubber that holds the passenger windows into the regulators? Is this the same as the tailgate or is it different?

Tailgate is a different critter somewhat. Lou (n2666s) is talking about the tailgate glass regulator rubber as a defacto reality now at this moment. Lou (Luke111) is I think primarily interested in the door window regulators (front and back) I believe.

Me, I am interested in both.

I'm sending Lou a sample of my regulator channel, they have a different proflie but if they have the same measurements it should work and save the tooling cost for a second profile.

I also have a 8ft sample from Restoration Specialtes body trim seal, it looks and feels great. SOR's is on the left and on the top in the third picture.

window regulator channel rubber and tailgate window channel regulator rubber<whew>

there is some thought and I appologize for being brain dead:o and not picking up on it!!; on the WINDOW REGULATOR CHANNEL RUBBER......they might be the same:bounce::bounce2:; both the window and the tailgate glass are 10 mms in thickness; don't have a sample to compare side by side but will have one to compare next 48 hours HTH:cheers:

Lou

"regulator channel

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, it's the bottom line is the regultor channel for the doors is very different. "

Anything happening here?

Great...another little milestone. Love to see progress like this.

got the window regulator channel from Luke111:clap::bounce::bounce2:...........thanks Lou; off to wefco for a quote..........need to know how much is needed for each door so we can get an idea of minimum we will need......9 or 10 feet a pig?, 12ft??......need to know how much for 4 doors and I would like to order enough personally for 2 pigs + stash away enough for another:steer:and:cheers:

Lou, I have a front door regulator channel out (of a 75) at this moment. It is 21" long (less for wing vent windows). The rear are shorter of course, but that is a good x4 sample. Probably about 7' each cruiser...but who is going to cry over 8'?
Personally, just cause I'd have to mess something up along the way, I would buy a few feet extra.

so to play it safe; lets say 9 ft to do a pig's 4 doors...........gives us something to work with if the minimum is 100 Ft we can do 11 piggies:hhmm:; just have to see how much the tooling costs; the shape is a bit more complex and there is going to be more rubber used so am expecting the costs to be a bit more:hhmm: just have to wait and see; but the good thing is their tract record goes back quite a few years and they have always delivered:)

Lou

OK, fellow knights......... this is what am planning on doing if there is enough interest; go ahead and have the tooling made.......spread the cost amongst us.........100$ divided by ? how many of us are interested.....then place an order for 100 ft at 1.50 $ a ft.........total will be 250$ not including shipping; please let me know so I can proceed HTH:cheers:

Lou
P.S. Inge will have hers at no cost, could not have made it happen w/o her graciously sending the channel rubber:)

Well Lou, I will be really looking foreward to the tailgate rubber arrival now. I will be able to use it soon with my new tailgate window---since I just broke my current tailgate glass :crybaby:

After a day on the roof sometimes it is just best to quit for the day :frown:

Eric, I very nearly broke my tailgate window when with a very gentle tug it popped out and left me lying on the ground surprised as hell holding the glass:confused:wondering how it happened.........sent off the window channel rubber this past week and waiting to get a quote........also waiting to get the tailgate channel rubber:steer:.............good thing is that tailgate windows are flat glass;

Lou

Just finished my D/S front with the info Heath provided.

It's like a brand new door. Glass is a little tight, but I know I can work it in.

Any updates on the rear 1/4 glass weatherstripping?

BTW,

Ige, I re-worked the door latch that I got from you. Used a rear latch as a donor. Once again, like a brand new part.

:steer: rear tailgate window channel rubber update!
Talked with Wefco friday; the die has been fabbed and they will start rubber extrusion next week.......they have not received the door window rubber channel yet??..............sent it USPS priority about 9 days ago..... .go figure:rolleyes:

Lou

n2666s; ............sent it USPS priority about 9 days ago..... .go figure:rolleyes: Lou[/QUOTE said:
Well, when you ship to Norway . 9 days is a long time for a 3 day service, even with the USPS. If it does not show, send me a shipping address and a reference and I'll FedEx them a pc..

will give wefco a call again in a couple of days to see if they received the door window channel rubber;

Lou
