Well, it only took four and a half hours, two trips to DMV and one document translated.

I hold the magic paper in my hand!

:)

Cheers

Sounds about par for the course. I haven’t had an import yet that didn’t require at least two trips to the DMV. They always tell me there is a piece of paperwork missing, so I go home, rearrange the stack of papers, wait a couple of days and try again. Somehow that seems to do the trick. Why they can’t accept everything the first time around is beyond me

Really looking forward to seeing the previous 14 pages of parts go to good use!

Not much more to report.

I know, I know, more boring parts posts with no progress. I get it, BELIEVE me. Things are on a semi-hold until I sort some nonsense out down here in Utah. Once that's settled I'll head up and we'll jam this whore out. Life gets in the way of Cruisers sometimes.

In the mean time more parts rolling in. I got my part numbers mixed up and ended up ordering an entire damn radiator support. Oh well more new parts. (Bonus shot of my filthy shoes. I wore those as I hiked through Petra in Jordan... let the bidding begin)

The hood latch was crusty and stuck so I ordered all new hardware for that, cable, latch, bumper, ect... Also some rear door bumpers and hardware. Gas caps/gaskets/door springs (not pictured)

The front windows looked scratched up and had some film on them. New ones were very cheap ($74/ea) so instead of spending hours fixing up the old ones...
They came nicely packaged in a box/crate.

Found these Bussman/Eaton waterproof fuse/relay boxes. They have a bunch of different configs, some with only fuses, some with more relays, ect...
I want the wiring to be as neat, new, and clean as possible since I hate wiring. I meant to order one, guess I ordered two.
They come as you see, loaded with fuses, relays and a fuse puller. Fully potted and water tight. Cool stuff.
You need to order the plugs to build for your harness into the box (the 4 plugs on the sides) which I did (not pictured)

Where'd you find the fuse/relay box? Would love to have a look at the different options/configurations...

I bought from here.

and here

what kind of pins and crimping tool is required for those connectors?

Regular weather pack crimpers should work. This is very much a build your own harness type thing.

As far as I know you'll need these. I could be wrong but this is what I ordered:

You'll need these plugs (different colors):

These types of connectors and seals (depending on your awg) :
280 Series Sealed Female Terminals w/Tang and Seals 10 PK.

These terminal holds:

You're gong to really like them on the truck...although I'm sure you'll be much happier with other things....like having a running/driving super cool Troopy. Glad they made it safe and sound.

I’m in the same boat. Speaker pods and no working cruiser yet.

You can always slap the pods on when you need a break from the tough parts of the build. They're a very satisfying install.

Until your door clips break and you don't have any extras. Then you order parts. Then the door panel cards tear. Then you take apart your windows and create another project. Then you order more parts. Then you realize there is rust in the doors. Then you break out the Por15 but it's dried out so you order more. Then when it arrives, it gets all over everything because you didn't wear gloves and you're working in a door. Then after about 10 more hours more then you expected and about 2 weeks for all the parts to arrive, you turn on the stereo but the speakers aren't working because you didn't remember to hook up the wires. :D :D

Order more clips then you think you need....you might be taking the panels off a couple of times!

That about sums it up perfectly.

Spent a little time on the chassis getting it ready for cutting. Brake lines, ABS harness, exhaust , ect removed.

With only little things left on the 70 I should have more time for the chassis.

Cheers

Tony are you finally back in Utah???? When are you supposed to get this troopy. This build and the one Jason is doing are the most interesting ones here to watch. But you can't quiet get your rig to your house.....and Jason can't decide whether he will keep his or sell it. WTF....:))

I'm in Utah now.
It's here in the US, in Idaho, just need to get it done.
I'm heading up on Tuesday or Wednesday for a bit to start the build with Ian. Hopefully it'll come together somewhat quickly.

hey where did you get your engine? Did you use Ebay or a junk yard or what??

That will be cool....a wolf in sheeps clothing.

Have you decided on the gearing and tire size you want yet??
