Traceys Saw in Orem makes blades. They are right on state street North of 1600 North.
hey thanks for the tip.
i'm in orem all the time.

Tools R Us, thanks for the info.
I think i'm going to go ahead and buy this next time i drive my truck to the city.

Thanks again everyone.

The blades for that saw are, of course, available at Harbor Freight. I have a Grizzly saw and buy all my blades at HF. They may not last that long but they're cheap.

I have that model HF band saw and i think it works very well. Cuts straight, you do need to let the cut get started first, you cant' just let the saw plop onto the cut piece or it will stall. I think this is common of most saws. The wheels are completely ajustable so most of you aftermarket replacement blades will work, don't need custom blades. For the home fabricator I think it is a good value, but then again I am not a tool snob.

I had been getting mine from Tractor Supply Company but this last time I went in they said it was discontinued. I don't know if I believe her still.

http://www.olsonsaw.com/PDFFiles/Olson_Band_Catalog.pdf This is the blade supplier that they were using. Good blades, just gotta find where I can get em again.

Oh and that cheap saw is one of my best tools. It kicks ass for the price, will prolly upgrade to a 6" or bigger later.

Can't go wrong with Ellis....

This Harbor Freight saw really offers somethings, that I have never seen in its price range before-

Another thing, if you ever find yourself looking to spend what an Ellis saw costs, for certain do some research with what you want out of a saw, because once you get around that price point- the bandsaw options improve dramatically.

You may end up with an Ellis or like myself, something else that is a superior fit to your sawing needs and wants.

The HF is a great lil saw that with a few cheap mods is better than other saws up to around $1k. There is plenty of info on that site to really help a ton.

You'll have no problem finding blades. Get a few good ones - basically toss out the pos one that comes w/ the saw. Have had mine for about 2 yrs now. Love it.

Hey thanks, just signed up. So I guess you can buy 100 foot rolls of blade and just cut and weld up your own bands?

And what you talkin about that crappy blade it came with, I've been using it as a spare for a whiles now  , oh boy is it dull but it's still cutting  .

I joined too, thanks for the link Mike. My saw was not cutting square, I tried shimming out the blade guides on the casting using some thin cardboard. Seems better. Also seems to help to crank the tension way up on the blade. Interestingly enough, the bearings that serve as the blade guides are Koyo, hechoed in Japan, not Cultural Revolution Specials.

I think it's probably worth the step up to get the model with adjustable blade guides- will make fitting up weldaments mucho bueno.
