Because of Mud I read about the coolant hose T connectors failing on these trucks a couple months back (I've had the truck for about 3 months). I went out and inspected mine and they looked good, so I didn't think too much about it. However, I was in Lowes and happened to see the 3/4" brass T's in plumbing and remembering what I'd read I grabbed them and tossed them into the back of the truck, planning to get around to it sooner or later.

FFWD to today, changing the oil. Wife's like "Just take it to Meineke!" I'm like "Kitchen is that way!".

So while changing the oil I just happened to noticed a little bit of pink crusty residue on one of the T's that wasn't there when I had looked a couple months back. So I reached up and BAM, the d@mn thing literally breaks in half in my hand. I BARELY grabbed the friggin thing! And I was getting ready to drive 1300 miles while towing a trailer in a few days.

This is why I like to do all my own maintenance, cuz Meineke would have never caught that...

So Thanks Mud, I owe ya one.

And if you haven't swapped out those plastic T's
