I wanted to personally thank you all for your donation to Consider Haiti (via Debbie Tolleson). Consider Haiti is a non-profit that I run in my spare time so it's as close to my heart as Land Cruisers. Here's a synopsis of what we do in Haiti.

MEDICAL CARE PROGRAM: Teams of volunteers that include medical personnel provide week‐long clinics for Haitian children, thus bringing medical care to a large population that otherwise would have no access to such care. Typically more than a thousand children are seen during each of these medical trips.

COMMUNITY HEALTH AGENT PROGRAM: Using local community health agents, children suffering from malnutrition are enrolled in a short‐term program to rehabilitate their bodies. Along with specially‐formulated nutritional supplements, community health agents provide de‐worming medicine and vitamins and offer guidance on improving health and wellness.

SUSTAINABLE NUTRITION PROGRAM: This program involves the distribution of goats, rabbits and other agricultural products to impoverished families along with instructions on how to use these resources to build sustainable sources of food and income. Every family with a child enrolled in the Community Health Agent Program will receive the gift of a female goat ready to be bred with a male goat provided by Consider Haiti or male and female rabbits ready to produce offspring.

CLEAN WATER PROGRAM: Most Haitians lack access to clean water, and as a result the contaminated water they are forced to drink or use for food preparation leads to widespread acute and chronic illnesses and is a major cause of death and misery. To combat this problem, Consider Haiti provides water filters effective in removing suspended solids and most pathogens to each family with a child enrolled in the Community Health Agent Program.

We're also working on funding to begin an aquaculture program.

Debbie and Nolen Grogan are traveling to Haiti with me next month. We'll beat around in 90 series Land Cruisers, double cab diesel Hilux pickups and check on our various programs. We'll also assist with the medical clinics and source local materials for the aquaculture setup.

One important point about your generous donation is that the money will be used in Haiti to directly benefit Haitians. All of our US staff are volunteer and we have virtually no overhead. Everyone who travels to Haiti with us pays their own way. In short, we will be good stewards of your donation and will ensure that the most good possible is done with the money.

If you'd like more information, check out www.considerhaiti.org or find us on Facebook and Twitter.

Again, thank you all very much.

Your welcome Todd!

RLC Members - your membership dues and raffle ticket sales help us help others in need. We've donated funds to other causes as well, and purchased items to donate to our neighboring TLCA clubs events.

This post is for each and every one of you. THANK YOU!

You're welcome, Todd. I am glad we were able to help and hopefully we can continue to help in the future.

Just wanted to let the RLC guys know that we got a very nice thank you note from Debbie Tolleson for helping Consider Haiti. Let's keep Todd, Nolen and Debbie in our thoughts and prayers as they travel to Haiti next month to do such awesome work.
