I don't post often but I do use this forum for research.

It really paid off a few weeks ago.

I had a problem with my outside rearview mirrors shaking when on the highway. I took my LC in for an oil change and asked the dealer to check it out.

Their report: replace the entire motor assembly for a cost of $900 each mirror. Yikes!

I searched this forum and found that a TSB had been issued for this problem. I showed it to the dealer and ordered the parts (6 bolts and washers) that I replaced myself for a total cost of about $20.

Needless to say I won't be going back to that dealer again.

Thanks for the help!

Nick

So nice to hear that you got something out of the site.

Its amazing how some dealers will just rob you if they can...sometimes you get lucky like the one I go to.

I am glad you fixed it, and it makes it all the more fun when you do it yourself.

Great news and thank YOU. I hadn't heard of this TSB but have noticed the vibration in my outside rearview mirrors. Now I'll know to mention this next time I'm at the dealership.

Could you please point me to the TSB? Thanks!

I also recently upgraded my tires to the Nitto Terra Grapplers (285 / 65 / 18) based on recommendations from people at this site. They've been great so far!
