Well...for s***s and grins I went out to check out the new Sequoia and LC. In a nut shell:
the LC was incredibly quick with the new engine. Fit and finish was outstanding. Otherwise, there was nothing that really "wow'd" me. the LC I drove was.........$75,000. Truly, absurd pricing. My wife said it looked "very feminine" The salesman advise he sold a "basic model" for $63,000 last week. Well, I never expected my wifes new Escalade to be outpriced by almost $18,000... So, for most of us, a plan to buy a 3-4 year old used 08' will still be around $40-$45,000
...Honestly, the new Sequoia looked very macho with the same Tundra grill. The Sequoia loaded at $44,000 Sticker......I'm wishing the Sequoia had a straight axle;-)

Steve, I agree. The Sequoia is hands down the better value. Certainly not festooned as well as a LC, but good grief... $30,000 more? There is a guy running around town with a built Sequoia that looks pretty good... also saw him at BMRA once.

We did however have a Lucchese Sequoia sell for $52k...

When I was running with the Land Rover crowd, I met a guy at BMRA with a tricked out Sequoia. I was really impressed with the performance of the truck. The only area that he had any trouble was with the long wheel base around the tight spots.

I think he’s dating a girl in Texas Rovers or has some kind of attachment via work or relationship to the Land Rover people. I met him at three SCARR (South Central Area Rover Rally) events over the past three years. Nice guy and sweet truck.

Sequoia price can range from $35k for a basic 4.7l SR5 RWD to $56k+ for a loaded 5.7l Platium 4WD, which not that much cheaper than a $63k Landcruiser.

I do like the Sequoia styling and the towing capacity over the LC/LX570.

Well I'm not in the market anyway, but that new Sequoia was nice.....and again, a used 200 series in three - four years is waaaaay out of the question.

'Real' Land Cruisers have a shifter for Low and High range, not buttons like the Dummer :grinpimp:
