last question in the build process....stall speed for the torque convertor....

350 TBI, 700R, 4:1 D300, 4.11 axles

I'm "leaning" stock or just a hair higher, but am honestly not sure what that is....

orangefj45, this will be on my list, planning to ring ya up tomorrow with my CC# in hand....oh, and I talked with my local tranny guru at lunch, he's plannin the labor for next week....

Go with an OEM stall speed converter. You don't need to "lauch" like a dragster very often, but do need to "ease" into things frequently. Also, the higher the stall speed, the more heat your tranny will generate.

ed is right on the money. the higher the stall, the hotter the converter runs and they do not appreciate being run below stall.
i'd go with stock as well, maybe an HD version. should be around 1500-1600 stall. as long as your engine idle is at about 1000 in neutral, it won't have the tendency to "crawl" over the brakes either.

I have a 1500rpm HD converter I bought when my tranny was rebuilt/adapted, and it performs well. I also reburned my chip and lowered the idle speed in drive to 450 rpm when warmed up, so there is no driving through my brakes.
