I got a question on the blog and thought I would pass on the info. I sent emails back and forth with Total Chaos (TC) and All Pro (AP) concerning their spindle gussets to answer the question will they work with stock UCA.
TC answer "The issue with running the stock upper control arm with our weld-on spindle gussets is the thickness of the gusset might not allow you to re-insert the cotter pin through the castle nut on the Balljoint. I {Pat Hanson} am not saying that it cannot be done, and if you really wanted to you could re-drill the hole, but we have run into that issue on one set of stock UCA's. "
AP - "Yes they will! I {Terry Baker} had them on my FJ with the sway bar AND stock upper a-arms - no problems!"
Hope that helps with anyone looking to keep their stock UCA and gusset up their spindles.
