Yep, I have seen it once on the interstate, around Soddy.
Then saw it buzzing around Hixson Area...

It basically looks like an Original Restro Job. Maybe some BFG AT's... Really clean ride.

When I saw it, it was a Man about 40 ish and his wife riding shot gun.

Long story short, my buddy has seen it, and would like to purchase it... If anyone knows it..
 
I think your right on the Tag... But not 100% sure... I sure flew up on it, then drove next to it staring the whole time...

So whos is it?
 
I think his name is either Steve or Mike? He is a friend of TNLandCruiser. Check page3 in the Chattanooga Meeting thread. I think we talked about him there. I've seen his truck up and down Dayton Blvd. It's purdy!!! Might PM TNLandcruiser (Steve Shaefer) and ask him.

Thanks I PM Steve, about his buddy... He thinks we are talking about the same one.

Talked to Mike about it...I dont think its his. There are 3 now, according to Mike. His and his buddies are nearly identical...except Mike's has black steelies with Buckshot Mudders on it. His buddy JUST finished restoring his and has the original rim/hubcap combination.

Then there is a 3rd one...but he doesnt know who that one belongs too.

Mikes number is 802-2374.
 
I have come to the conclusion, I will have to wait till I or my buddy see it again.. Then stop it...

Never would have thunk 3 Tan, Resto Jobs where in town.
 
Update, my father in law saw it this weekend. Tag says ITSNAJP... or something close to saying..

Its not a jeep
 
Not Mikes then...his plate reads "No Jeep".

Update...he no longer has black nascar rims and Buckshot MT tires. They are now on my rig...he went back to black 15" OEM rims with 30.5 Dunlap AT's.
 
We need to clarify WHICH 40 we are talking about?

There are now three Tan FJ40's in the area...that we know of. One is Mike's ("No Jeep" on the plate and black OEM wheels), one is his buddy's (no customized plate with battleship gray OEM wheels). Then there is the mysterious 3rd one. I can help you with the numbers to the first two guys...but not the 3rd one.
 
Steve it is the Third one....

After talking with my father in law, its the same Cruiser, and I remembered the Tag as well. If I knew the exact tag phrase, I would have his name. But my hook up searched and couldnt find it, just playing with what I had.

As for a Prize... 1 You will get to see a Nice Cruiser in person. and best of All. How about a Inner Axle Seal or a 6 Pack of Beer.
 
Well Sat, I am leaving the Mall, and spot a Tan FJ40, sporting a rack, and Chrome Wheels rolling on the otherside.

So I race thru traffic, pull up as he is getting out.

He will not sell it... Now this still is not the same one, I am looking for but was worth a shot.

This guy said it had 28K org miles.

A funny new story, on the FJ 40 Tan... So my buddy is in Pigeon Forge, and see's a Tan FJ40... Tag NO Jeep out in front of Orvis.

Long story short, he never could find owner, in Story... But figures no way the guy will sell, due to Tag etc.

Anyway.. Thought man how many Nice Tan FJ40's are in TN
 
Talked to Mike...it was him. He and his wife were in Pigeon Forge over the holidays. Too funny someone from here saw him there.

He now has black OEM rims with chrome center caps with AT tires.

His name is Mike McDowell and his cell is 423-802-2374
 
Well, Steve my Buddy is like a Stalker on Tan 40's right now... He even took a picture of his wife, leaning on it...
