Hi all,

I have a question that hopefully someone can help me with. I am tall 6’5 (195cm) and my wife is also fairly tall 5’10 (177cm) and at the moment we need to have two rear facing child seats. Has anyone here ever experienced this and think we have any chance of having enough legroom in the front row in a 200?

Unfortunately there are no 200 series for sale near where I live to try out. I have tried a 150 and I did not have close to enough legroom in the driver seat.

Thanks in advance!

Rear facing room is tough. We have a CLEK Foonf and there is definitely not enough room for me at 6’4

Front facing obviously is a different story but sounds like you’re a few years away from that. It works for me bc I can put rear facing behind passenger ie my 5’6 tall wife.

The 200 probably isn’t the best fit for you with rear facing seats.

I can take a picture tonight if you’d like. With my rear facing behind me, my knees are hitting the dashboard.

Sequoia, tundra or sienna if keeping in the Toyota family….or go the crazy route we went and got a long wheelbase Range Rover with ~ 47” of leg room in the 2nd row and you can adjust the front seats all day.

There should be enough legroom for your wife, but definitely not for you. We have an evenflo revolve360 extend. At 5'11" (longer legs and short torso for me) if I make sure to sit up straight and don't slouch, I've got about 3 inches before knees to dash. If I want the seat reclined a little, that leg room closes up fast. I'd go Sequoia if I were in your shoes. But even then that might still be a little tight for you.

Looks like OP is from Norway- not sure sequoia is an option there.

Thanks everyone for the advice! Really appreciate the help.

I live in Norway so our choice of cars and particularly trucks is extremely limited unfortunately, even compared to the rest of Europe, due to the extremely high taxes on emissions, displacement and weight.

But it seems like the cruiser dream will have to be put on hold for a few years at least then!

Thanks again for the help!

I currently own a 200, but when my children were in car seats we had three across in a Sequoia. I would suggest you consider the Sequoia if you are needing family space and convenience.

Yes unfortunately we don’t get most of the cool trucks you get in the US. Very few 200s were ever sold here and they stopped selling them in early 2010s due to the cost. So only the 150 Prado since then. A surprising number of people privately import F150s and other full size pickups, but they are extremely expensive due to the tax.

I am also very jealous of the amount of choice you get for ‘overlanding’ equipment.

And whole foods. Don't forget about the whole foods. Those parking lots can be treacherous to navigate without maxtraxx and a winch haha

I used to have such a hard time I needed to add 35s just to manage
