but a new fan in my refrigerator. I was working fine except it was making a loud wobbling sound due to loosing one propeller blade

Making headway on my todo list.

Pulled rear drums off for inspection. Got a few more miles left on shoes but needed the dust cleaned out.

Put back together, adjusted the brakes, cleaned and scrubbed parts of the axels at each end and put on some black lipstick. First time I ever used dental tools to clean in the hard to get places. New calipers and adjusted rears, breaks working great.

Finished rehabilitation of the rear bumper. Not concurs spec. because considering I use it for camping, kamikazeing and demolition ops, good enough to not look rusted and bent.

Last night I sewed on a leather cover on the NOS steering wheel “wareagle” assisted in procured for me and installed today.

I see a little orange peel on the frame rail. For shame!

So finally got some time to spend on my sweetheart. Misc. Service, repairs and tidying up areas that that could use TLC. After the close encounter of possibly biblical consequences I will be more diligent on inspections.

-Made sure the passenger side wheel bearing is properly torqued. Used the 10 lb rule. Left side was done when knuckle rebuilt.
-Installed new calipers on the front wheels ( need to give them another bleed)
-Thoroughly cleaned, inspected and painted steering components.
-Replaced a bad grease bladder. (2 more to do)
-Greased steering ball joints
-Removed rear bumper to massage out the bends and dents.

What is the 10 lbs rule?

What is a grease bladder?

Why the spacers? I thought you were running stock steelies?

So it has become time to attack my floor board. I did the cargo area quite some time ago as well as the trans hump ( no, no, not the trans gender thingy).

Picked up 6 rattle cans of 2 part epoxy color 031. The kind of can that you push the plunger on the bottom that activates the epoxy.

First I have to strip off the bed liner the P.O. applied. It is pretty rough. The cargo area was so rough, it hurt to kneel on it which made it painful to consummate our union in the back.

Once thoroughly cleaned to bare metal I will apply black star rust killer and sealer, then some etching primer filler, sand smooth and apply numerous layers of 031.

The cargo area was done when I got my princess nine years ago. Can’t believe it’s been that long.

Today I remembered why I procrastinate on repainting the flooring. I recall seeing some suspect floor rust in the drivers side. Got most of the bed liner and original paint removed. It all looked better than I expected but did find a glob of bondo on the drivers side floor front left corner. Scared to explore for fear of finding a big hole which I am not interested in attacking at this time.

Will inspect and clean it up so that I can keep forward progress.

Still have to investigate the original floor deadening mat to make sure no rust it living underneath.

Have the next three full days dedicated the paint part of the project. Hope to have paint done by Sunday. Can putter on putting the rest back together during the work week.

If a guy was planning on welding in some patch panels, now would be a good time while everything is out. :hmm:

After cleaning around the area in question turns out there is at small patch already installed (6”x6”). not the greatest craftsmanship but solid. Going to live with it for the moment. the rest of the floor is in great shape.

Not sure how you are tackling that sound deadener
Do to the solid condition of rest of the floor, I am leaving it intact.

Seeing as how I have hardly used up very much of my $5,000 budget, I’m going to save the time and money for the next near life and death adventure repair.

Cleaned the rest of the floor to bare metal and applied rust neutralizer. Prepped to prevent any chance of overspray or stray dusting of paint on dash and doors.

Do a light sand in the morning and spray etching filler primer.

Some areas pretty tight for rattle canning but it will look better then it did and be easier to keep clean.

Hard to keep up with some of these pristine builds.

Turned out the etching primer is a 1 hr cure time so I moved my marching orders up a day and surprise surprise, get to drink a beer earlier then expected.

Considering the obstacle course I had to work around I like how it turned out. I could of added more hours to the project but at what point does one stop and say, lets get laid.

The goal was;
-inspect
-kill rust
-get an epoxy top coat on
-get laid
-put it back together and drive it
