Well, 99% success on the the overspray prevention.

0% on the get laid thing, hope is a great word or a great women’s name depending on the circumstances.

Well, yesterday some new sound / heat material was supposed to arrive for the floor. No such luck. Most everything is put back together. Leaving the front seat for last to make it easier to fit the insulation. The material is aluminum both sides with a 1/4” foam center. I’ve been using a foil one side with 1/2” organic fiber mat. Works well just don‘t like how the matting holds water from some minor leaking. Windshield rubber is the culpri.

Next major project for down the road is new headliner with new window gasket to eliminate the leaks.

Anyone know what yellow is the closest match for the jack and crank? I have the jack from my 55 I had 50 years ago and think it is befitting to bring it back to its former glory.

You must be so stoked. Just looks great!
Yes, it has been on the bucket list for 10 years. Was really glad seeing that the kudzu was not of any real concern.

The sad part is after 5 full days straight working on it (50 plus hours) when it was all put back together one can’t see any of the work that got done. Although I can see the 4 new aluminum door thresholds, the two forward left and right upholstery panels and the new steering wheel.

If I’m diligent enough I will get to see the work once a year when I do a thurough interior cleaning.

Yesterday morning I drove to Spector Off Road to pick up a couple of parts I forgot to order (only an hour away). I always enjoy the hall of cruisers you walk by to get to the counter. It’s a very large warehouse of parts.

No doubt. That place is cool to amble around! I can never get out of there without taking sometime to ck sime of them out.
Really neat rigs!

Just need a quick once over!

Went to the car paint store and attempted a color match for the 2 jack sets for me two pigs. Think it’s pretty close, maybe I bit dark.

Had them make up a rattle can of two part.

Takes more time to prep then paint.

Wish I had something else to paint yellow to use up the rest of the can. Maybe a racing stripe on the hood of the red pig.

I found School Bus Yellow a decent match...can't remember if it was Krylon or Rustoleum.

Well, numerous hours of cleaning and prepping and a 10 minute 2 coat rattle can job (5 min flash time then second coat). Ended up using a whole can ( a good portion just blows by the parts).

The jack with the Teq logo is the one I kept from 1973 from my first 1972 pig.

The other jack is original to my 1970 red/white pig (no Teq logo)?

I used the 2 part paint mix so that any solvent based cleanup won’t damage the paint.

After refinishing the floor last weekend, it seemed like an insult to have a beat looking jack mounted to it.

Today I remembered why I procrastinate on repainting the flooring. I recall seeing some suspect floor rust in the drivers side. Got most of the bed liner and original paint removed. It all looked better than I expected but did find a glob of bondo on the drivers side floor front left corner. Scared to explore for fear of finding a big hole which I am not interested in attacking at this time.

Will inspect and clean it up so that I can keep forward progress.

Still have to investigate the original floor deadening mat to make sure no rust it living underneath.

Have the next three full days dedicated the paint part of the project. Hope to have paint done by Sunday. Can putter on putting the rest back together during the work week.

Great picture of the front seat mounts!
I remember when you swung by after last year's Pig Party and we were talking about the front seats - makes me think maybe someone swapped front seats from a different year Pig into mine? Too laid back...

I was thinking the same thing after that picture from above...
