Have you given any thought to diversifying your product line to design and produce (maybe outsource production) of parts for non Toyota LandCruiser vehicles?

Reason I ask is the portion of the Land Rover crowd (that actually takes their vehicles off road) - specifically LR3 & LR4 owners - also have rear fold down tailgates like the 60/80/100/200 series TLCs.

They would probably be interested in your tailgate and rear quarter panel storage compartments.

There's no storage compartments in the back of LR3 / LR4s...only the open cargo area...and those guys like to outfit their trucks too.

You bet LakeNorman, I've looked into other vehicles and have made a few custom lids for things here in the shop. For the most part the Cruiser guys keep me pretty busy so I haven't had much of a chance to work on other makes.
My plan with the flip up windows is to make those available for other trucks depending on interest, I put a lot of work into developing a modular system so that (hopefully) I can adapt it to other stuff easy.

As trucks get more modern the interior storage spaces get more complicated to the point of being priced out of reality. I've looked at some of the older LRs with that in mind and found that in a lot of cases they only have the outer skin, no body cavity to work with.
I've not had a chance to poke around any of the newer stuff though so I'll make sure I take a look.
cheers,
KR

Sounds good. If I can get the time, I'll pull off the rear tailgate carpet on the LR4 and see what's inside the tailgate. Have to think it's the same situation as a 80/100 series...hopefully a hollow void.

As far as the rear quarters go, based on what I can see inside the driver rear quarter, it might be packed with wiring, speakers and electronics.
