Have a car hauler, recently bought, that has brakes on one axle and I want to get a controller for it. Is connecting one to a truck easy enough for a rookie to do? Have a '97 F-250 and I'm pretty sure it's already wired from the factory for a controller. Thanks for any insight.

yes, your truck should have a plug under the dash for the brake controller. it will most likely require an adapter harness to go from whatever controller you get to the ford plug, but it is plug and play.

Search will find plenty of opinions - many of us here love and use the Prodigy brake controller. Unlike our LC's, most pick up's are prewired. There should be a plug under your dash. That plug and the proper adapter for your F250 and you should be good to go.
