Date: 09/23/2008 BLUERIBBON COALITION ACTION ALERT!

Dear BRC Action Alert Subscriber,

Tahoe NF Almost Ready to Release Travel DEIS

The Tahoe National Forest, located in northeastern California, is expected to release their Travel Management Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) on September 26, 2008. This will be followed by a 60-day public review and comment period. The document is expected to be available online once it is released. Check the Forest's OHV Route Designation website at http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/tahoe/projects_plans/ohv_inv/index.shtmlfor further updates. Anyone who requested a hard copy or CD should be receiving them in the mail after their release.

To help the public review the DEIS, the Forest Service (FS) has scheduled a number of open houses and orientation meetings for the month of October 2008. The meetings are broken down in to two different sessions. The first session is the open house, they will be held during the afternoons. The second session will be an orientation meeting held in the evenings. (See below for dates, times and details of each meeting)

The purpose of these sessions is to provide an overview of the DEIS and to answer your questions so that it will be easier for you to comment. The FS isl not be planning to take public comments during these sessions.
