Tach Issue / LJ78 (1 Viewer)

Let me set the stage.....it was a cold morning ( at least by Southern U.S. standards..32 degrees C ). Upon startup my tachometer was not working at all ....5 minutes later it was reading 1,000rpm ( still not correct) and a few minutes later it was indicating correctly and continued to do so.
Any idea whats going on? ..............1978HJ45 ( 1990 LJ78 )

Loose connection some where?
Spider made its home in the back of the dial and it took a while for the web to brake. (Dont laugh as it happened to me)
