Anybody have any experience with the Tabor 9K? I have the Slee original on my 80 and need a foot forward winch, I know the M8000 will work but thinking the extra 1K# might not be a bad idea if it will work foot forward

What is meant by 'foot forward'?

Feet-forward means that the plate that the winch is mounted to is in FRONT of the winch, as in an ARB bumper. Feet-down would be bolting into a mounting plate BELOW the winch.

Just about all of the planetary design winches allow you to "clock" the mechanism as needed. You slide one of the ends off (either motor or gear end, can't remember which) and rotate it to a different position in relation to the stationary end. This would include feet-forward mounting, plus others.

But I've never set eye on a Tabor. Suspect's the above is the case, but I don't know for sure.

The Tabor is a Chinese winch that Warn brought in to compete with all the low end winches flooding the market.

The M8000 is a good winch for just a bit more money. I think that over the years you'll be happier with the M8000.

I thought the Tabor line was discontinued?

I think someone had a similar post somewhere. I have a Warn M8000 24v as my main / also have 8274-50 24v and 8274-8403 that is 12v .
Dont go cheap on a winch-period!

Don't waste money like I did on a poorly made Tabor 9k. Go with the M8000.
