i put a 79 chevy 1ton master cylinder in my yota project. im running a dana 60 and 14 bolt. all the lines were 1/8". Where can i get adapters from the master to the lines. i ordered an adjustable preportioning valve today from summit but the guy said he didnt have any line adapters.

anyone else have this problem?? the plastic bushings in the master say 9/16-18 and 1/2-20

thanks

yes the calipers are 3/16" but the proportioning valve is 1/8. they sent adapters for 1/8 to 3/16. how nice of them.

thanks for the link eskimo

The proportioning valve is 1/8" NPT, not 1/8" line... careful getting the 2 mixed up, it'll bite ya in the ass.

Your fitting that came with the proportioning valve is 3/8-24 Inverted flare female to 1/8" NPT male. ;)

master to lines, any parts store, specifically napa has drawers labeled master cylinder adapters :)

the aftermarket adjustable will come 1/8 PIPE thread if it doesnt come with adapters ( which i have never seen them sold without the adapter) pipe male to inverted flare as mentioned.

all i know is i used to be able to go to an autoparts store and give them something and say find me this. now that ive moved to the armpit of america (flint, MI.) all i have is an autozone where i had to walk the employee to the back to show him that there was a drawer with brake line adapters. which didnt have what i needed. so now this simple swap. which i thought. has turned into a major task that is annoying me. i have lines run to the prep. valve and then up to the master. now i need some stupid fittings to make life complete. and maybe.. just maybe.. ill be able to drive this rig before the 1st of the year.

I didnt use a prop valve..with rear disk and calipers off a K20 and stock Dana 60 front brakes..It was perfectly matched up with the Rockstomper.com set up....

got it done today. went back to my hometown yesterday to cut down a xmas tree and stopped in my old napa store ive missed for about 4 years. walaa 3 minutes and $7 later i walk out with what seemed to every big chain autparts store to not exist.

Ever consider using IFM adapter (thread /fitting type in M/C) to -3 or -4 and running all SS lines. It's simple and clean, then you have a couple of fitting and a section of line and now there a spare line for every thing.
