My nephew bought an old 91 Suzuki 300 quad, it has a problem with the fuel, it supposed to have a rebuilt carb, it has the old carb with it, it needs some choke to keep running, it will fuel starve without the choke, it also acts like it's dumping gas when it's running at times, I know thats a little confusing but any help from those of you who have dealt with an old quad with carb problems, any advice appreciated, Larry

Sounds like the carb was never tuned once put on the quad. Set your float height and adjust your fuel air mixture.

^failing that, your pilot jet might be clogged or too small.

if it were me, i'd give the old carburetor a cleaning and try it out. if it runs with the old unit, take note of the jet/needle sizes, and needle position it has and make sure it jibes with the rebuilt one.
