At what point - how much suspension lift (3 inch, 4 inch, 6 inch ??) should you consider changing the upper control arms to bring the caster back into spec.
With the OME and Icon components I added to mine, I didn't find it necessary to keep within factory spec. I did eventually upgrade to Total Chaos to help with gaining as much travel as I could given the limitations of the front suspension.
I was able to run the stock UCA with OME 886/N140 with a Demello single hoop bumper w/Warn M8k winch, which pushed the suspension to the limit (no binding of the CV when fully extended) and was still able to get factory spec when aligned. However, I did request for the tech to "push" the caster forward in order to gain more clearance at the body mount.
In my experience, you can get close but not exactly to factory alignment specs after a 3" lift. It will be safe and drive-able if you have the toe-in set to 0.04 degrees, the camber set to zero, and let the caster fall where it may. Aftermarket upper control arms are a worthwhile investment IMO. The Light Racing adjustable ones are less expensive than some others and a good value for the money. Not sure if Afrikaners can get them shipped there or not.
