I have been looking at one of these for a while now. I just discovered that Surly is offering a complete bike now.

I rode a complete Pugsley from a shop here. I wasn't in the mood for buying a new bike but I saw it and was intrigued. I just rode a few blocks around the shop. I couldn't find justification for owning one even though I would love to.
The one I rode had reversible wheels whith different gearing on each. Swap wheels front to back to change from touring gearing to climbing gearing.
Pretty cool bikes. Heavy though. My legs burned a bit after riding just a little bit. But then I don't ride a whole lot.
I don't like the white, I rode a darker color one, charcoal I think.

Cool bike, I wouldn't mind having one in the stable for some lazy bike path fun.

Yup, they are cool. They'd be fun in the sand/snow.

I saw a guy riding one in a 24hour race once, he was running 8psi in the tyres and he might as well have had suspension, he was sitting down pedalling over these roots and small rocks, no worries.

I have a Pugsly!

Here's mine with my 74; the 2 off road vehicles I use everywhere I go; in sand in mexico and utah, colorado snow. It is the "most fun" bike I have ever owned. Night rides or to the store rides are all fun on this, and I keep miles off my DD-BJ74.
Cruises on the beach where nothing else would go, and is a blast on the snow... I saw a guy ride into a lake on one, keep going, then back out! I know another guy that does the "Iditarod" style race for bikes on one up in Alaska.
Even just going across town for the mail is fun now! 4 inch tires @ low volume is more suspension than I get out of my 29er mtn bike, and; steel is for real!
Have fun!

I'm tempted between a Pugs or Fatback for a little more dough.

I own a CrossCheck and few other steal mtn bikes which I adore. Steal is indeed real.
