While I like seeing people do different things, it seems like a strange engine choice for a truck. JMHO.
Had the motor before the truck and figured I’d go for it. Got some extra waky stuff planned for it way down the road.

Coil near plug bracket added for the LQ9 coils
And got the fuel cell in, made measurements and will reinforce the body before cutting out the floor in the trunk area. Did a few more things but they were basic.
Fun facts
1jz gte non vvti fuel rails injector ports line up with 2jz ge non vvti stock runners.
Will be using stock fuel rail and -6 an fuel lines with a walbro 400
The fuel cell is 32 gal hopefully range is around 200 miles.

Not a bad engine choice really, 3L with a turbo can make great power and torque. Ford is doing a 2.7L ecoboost in their trucks. It is just going to depend on turbo choice on where the powerband is. Good looking build!

Thanks!

Radiator and intercooler mounted
And gas tank is in the final location, need to finish its mount however
Bottom of the tank is above the frame.
Need to do a bunch of plumbing but should be getting ready to wire everything up soon

Good progress, can't wait to see first start up.

I think I missed what size turbo you are going to run but it looks awfully big for this application. Running the numbers if you went with a 58mm like a EFR 7670, you should be able to make about 450ft/lbs @ 2500rpms and still make 550hp @ 6500rpms. But you would need to limit RPMs to around 6500 with that size turbo.

Thanks for the info
turbo is a 70 mm
Picked it because I was originally doing a supra kart MKiii but swapped over to the 80
Will definitely be selecting a smaller nicer turbo. If I find one for a good price
Also have thrown around the idea of twin charging it(blower fed by large turbo)

Another update, have a few more thing before pulling the motor to finalize some stuff and add some wires....
Things not in pictures
Fuel lines ran, frame notched for radiator, an fittings every where, throttle body finally installed.

Mainly did exhaust today finished the high pressure line for fuel
Removed old fuel lines
Attempted boost piping but the bender kinked the tubing(didn’t heat it enough)

Most of the wiring has been covered heavily on other forums but some progress pics are always nice.
Corvette c5 seats with all the heavy stuff off of them, bout 15 lbs each now. They have aluminum frames.
Will be doing custom seat sliders.
Camshaft shifter might be too much weight too far away. Don’t want gravity selecting gears after a jump so will replace the bushing on it and hopefully I can keep it.
Injectors and lq9 coils are all wired up.
Also for those interested my IG is Corbinjl
It gets a little more action

I absolutely cannot wait to see this thing run. Amazing work!

This looks like fun.

Still have the gas tank?

Neat seeing someone do this.....living where I do I see plenty of 1/2 cut vehicles from everywhere land in the B.C. ports & slowly some of the turbo’d & exotic motors the USA market never saw are getting easier to import.
This is one of the motors I see & always wondered how it would play.

Cool stuff!

Starting next couple weeks assuming I haven’t screwed anything up and I have time
